I’ve been playing outside

One of my blogging pet peeves–my only one, in fact–is when I go to a blog and see an it’s-been-awfully-quiet-around-here post where the writer has seemingly fallen off the blogosphere and returned with a list of excuses about why they haven’t been blogging. I’ve come across so many of these posts that I swore if I ever stopped writing (for whatever reason) that I wouldn’t write one when I started back up again. So, I’ve decided to ignore the fact that I haven’t written here since February and just jump right back in with a few photos of what I’ve been up to the past few months.

playing outside

Mostly, we’ve been playing outside. I put in the vegetable garden, added new landscaping to the backyard, planted my container gardens, and fixed up all the flower beds. Once the gardening bug hits me, it’s hard to get away. I’ve been spending as little time in front of the computer as possible these past few weeks, and practically the only thing that brings me inside is darkness. (Rain will also force me inside, but that’s okay because the rain brings out the waders–see our recent rainy-day visitor in the picture below.) Otherwise I’m perfectly content to weed, water, dig, and plant all day long. And the little man loves helping mama! So when we’re outside, everyone’s happy.

But, it’s time for me to shift back into blog writing mode. For one thing, I’ve signed up for Blogathon 2012–a 30-day blogging challenge during which the goal is to post every day. So even though things have been quiet around here for a while, it’s about to get crazy!

  1. So, tell me, 10-minute blogging is going to help, right? It’s remarkably easy if you just commit to it. I bet you’ll get hooked. I sort of am already.
